Fine Art Classes for Elementary, Middle, and High School Wednesdays September through April; Times: 9:15-10:15, 10:20-11:20, 11:25-12:25 26 classes including an art show. Course is 24 weeks-the other 2 days are built in for bad weather days. No other make-up days will be added. Art show will be on the last day of school year between 10:30-12:00 for all three classes. Students will display their work for family and friends. Art A: Art for Elementary School (1st-4th) Wed 9:15-10:15 Cost: $125.00 tuition for each semester. Supply fee: $25.00 includes both semesters. Description: This elementary fine art course focuses on the fundamental art elements through drawing and painting. Art Show: There will be an Art Show at the end of the 2024-25 school year for students to display their artwork for family and friends. This is a year-long class that is intended to be taken both semesters. Class size limit: 10 students Art 1: Elements for Middle School (5th-8th) Wed 10:20-11:20 Cost: $150.00 tuition for each semester. Supply fee: $40.00 includes both semesters. Description: This artistic course demonstrates the elements of art and design: Space, Line, Shape, Form, Color, Value, Texture. With an emphasis on techniques and skills, students will develop their creative talents and abilities through drawing and painting. We will be covering various art subjects including landscape, portrait, and still life. Mediums used include graphite, colored pencil, oil pastel, soft pastel, watercolor, and acrylic. Students will have practice assignments to do at home that will enhance their artistic skills and abilities. Art Show: There will be an Art Show at the end of the 2024-25 school year for students to display their artwork for family and friends. This is a year-long class that is intended to be taken both semesters. Requires: 9x12 spiral bound drawing pad and drawing kit to bring to class each week. Specific details for the pad and the kit will be available after enrollment. Class size limit: 15 students Juhls Spencer Bio- Juhls and her husband Michael with their son Hunter live near Keystone Lake. After substitute teaching for several years at her son's grade school she decided to home-educate in 2016. As well as being a homeschool mom, Juhls was a Boy Scout leader during her son’s journey to Eagle Scout and also ran a homeschool group for seven years until Hunter’s graduation in 2023. Juhls is an art instructor and has also taught performance, physical education, Oklahoma history, business for teens, critical thinking, life skills, writing, and a variety of other courses. Juhls has a Bachelor’s Degree in Art and an Associate’s Degree in Fashion.
