Launching a love for reading begins with learning to read. As parents, we understand the challenge children face as they begin the journey to literacy. As educators, we know that teaching a child how to read isn’t always easy. In fact, it can be one of the most difficult tasks of all.
ReadingRockets.org provides a wealth of knowledge for teachers and parents who are teaching their children how to read. Families with young learners are also encouraged to visit the site and discover the tools and resources available…all at no cost.
What is Reading Rockets?
Reading Rockets is a national multimedia literacy initiative offering information and resources on how young kids learn to read, why so many struggle, and how caring adults can help.
Reading Rockets brings the best research-based strategies to teachers, parents, administrators, librarians, childcare providers, and anyone else involved in helping a young child become a strong, confident reader. The goal of Reading Rockets is to bring the reading research to life — to spread the word about reading instruction and to present “what works” in a way that parents and educators can understand and use.
