Personally Identifiable Information We Collect
We collect personally identifiable information you provide voluntarily when requesting information, catalogs, or other materials or to satisfy other requests. This information may include your first and last name, mailing and/or billing address, email address, telephone number.
Should you decide to enroll your student as a Student, we collect information from you during the application and enrollment process necessary for enrollment.
We may collect personal information at other times, such as when you contact our technical support, send us an email, complete a user survey, or otherwise communicate with Epic.
We may also collect information about you or your student from external sources with your consent or as allowed under the law. For example, we may collect information from a school your child previously attended for academic placement purposes.
Student Data And Education Records
In accordance with the Epic Charter School “Transfer & Release of Confidential Information and FERPA Policy” we obey laws that protect education records. This includes the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (“FERPA”) and state laws about student records. Other entities can access those records only if allowed by those laws and if they agree to keep them confidential as required by those same laws. Epic does not use a student’s private information to target the student for advertising. If any part of this policy conflicts with FERPA or other laws, Epic will obey the standard that provides the most protection for the education records.
Please be aware, student data processing and reporting information described in this policy applies for students where Epic is the primary school of record. If you are not enrolled in Epic Charter School, your school of record may have different requirements for data processing, retention and reporting.
