This is THE Math Event of the Year!

Math? And…basketball? OH. YEAH.

Join us for an exciting day on the Oklahoma City Thunder basketball court. EPIC teachers will present Math lessons for students in grades PreK-7 in this “out of the box” and “on the court” approach to arithmetic.

Two Session Times Available (Register for 1 Session Only, Please)

Court of Dreams Event Day Details:

Who: EPIC Charter School students in grades PreK-7 are invited to attend this special event. The facility is reserved for EPIC for the day. Space is limited so you must pre-register. Reservations became available on Wednesday, November 6, 2019. When we run out of spaces a waitlist will go live. PLEASE REGISTER STUDENTS ONLY, PARENTS DO NOT NEED TO REGISTER.

When: Tuesday, December 3, 2019. There will be two sessions with the morning session running from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m., and the afternoon session from 1:00-3:00 p.m. Please do not register for more than one session.

Where: The Chesapeake Energy Arena, home to the Oklahoma City Thunder NBA basketball team, located at 100 W Reno Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73102.

Transportation: Students can be transported by parent or EPIC Charter Schools teacher. The school will not be responsible for transportation unless students are attending with their Learning Center Groups. Otherwise, parents will set up proper transportation.

Parking: There are several parking garages or parking lots available to park downtown. The Cox Convention Center has an underground parking garage and is located directly north of the main entrance to the Chesapeake Arena. Bring $5-$10 for parking the day of the event. **Meters are not free during the weekday. Visit http://parkingokc.com/ for more information about parking in the downtown Oklahoma City area.

Clothing: Wear appropriate shoes for the court. NO heels or shoes that will scuff up the court! If you wear inappropriate shoes you will not be allowed to participate.

Answers to Other Frequently Asked Questions…

  • Yes, it is FREE to EPIC Charter School students. This event is for EPIC students ONLY.
  • Students enrolled in the Blended Learning Centers in Oklahoma City & Tulsa in grades 1-7 DO NOT need to RSVP.
  • Students enrolled in the Blended Learning Centers WILL have transportation provided, but their parents must sign a permission slip for them to attend. BLC parents are welcome to attend but must provide their own transportation.
  • Parents are encouraged to stay and watch. There will be plenty of room in the arena.
  • This is not a basketball game. Instead, we use this as a time to engage students in applied mathematics and allow them time to meet other students their age.
  • Students are grouped by grade levels and are taught by EPIC teachers with grade-level math certificates. This event is for students in Grades PrK-7.
  • Lunch is not provided, but concessions may be open during that time.

      Here in okc, the blended learning center didn’t open until 12:30 for students who didn’t attend
