We are excited to announce Epic’s first basketball program for both boys and girls. Beginning after Labor Day (Monday, September 5th), 3rd through 12th-grade students who are interested in participating in basketball will be able to register for the upcoming season. Our basketball program is slated to start in November and will conclude with a statewide “Gold Ball” tournament for grades 9th-12th during the month of February.
How do I sign my child(ren) up to participate?
The Basketball Participation form can be accessed by logging into the Parent Portal in PowerSchool. It will be located under “Forms” and is labeled “EPIC Girls’/Boys’ Basketball Sign-up”
Important Note: All players will be required to get a physical examination from a licensed physician. Also, each player will be required to have a signed Waiver & Release form on file. These 2 documents are embedded in the Sign-up form and will require printing. When you are ready to submit the completed waiver and physician’s form, you will simply select the “Document Return” form (located in the same Extracurricular Activities section) and follow the prompts to upload your documents.

How will teams be formed?
Teams will be formed by the geographical area in which they live. Our role is to connect players to coaches. As players sign up to participate, we will facilitate those connections.
How will team practices be scheduled?
Each team’s coach will be responsible for scheduling practice locations, dates, and times. We will assist coaches in this endeavor should they need it.
How will games be scheduled and played?
Coaches will have the autonomy to set up a schedule that best suits their team. Epic is partnering with Greg Swaim’s Big Time Sports Events to coordinate weekend tournaments for each team. Each team will have the opportunity to play in up to five tournaments.
What is the Gold Ball tournament?
In February, Epic (9th – 12th grade) high school basketball teams (boys and girls) will come together for Epic’s Gold Ball state tournament championship. All dates, times, and locations will be provided and communicated at a later date.
Will coaches be required to sign up and pass a background check?
The safety of our student-athletes is our top priority. We will require coaches to submit for a background check through an approved entity.
Will the Learning Fund be available to pay for basketball tournaments?
Yes. Students and families will be able to use the Learning Fund to pay for participating in the basketball tournaments by selecting the “Basketball Bundle.” The total cost to the student’s Learning Fund for participation is $60 to Greg Swaim’s Big Time Sports Events. However, uniforms are not allowed to be purchased through the Learning Fund and will be the responsibility of participating families. The approved uniforms will cost approximately $60. A link will be provided to an online store at the time of registration for uniform purchases. Coaches will be responsible for their equipment,
