It Takes a Team to be a Top Workplace

Most of us spend more than a third of our lives at work. Being able to show up every day to a place you enjoy, with people you respect, doing work that is meaningful and rewarding is a gift. That’s why I am so pleased that, for the third year in a row, EPIC Charter Schools has been named a Top Workplace by The Oklahoman. In addition, we also took the top award for Employee Appreciation.

Awards are important. Recognition for a job well done is a key component of any healthy and productive work environment. But, to me, this honor is less about accolades and more about acknowledging the beating heart of EPIC – its people.

In the years I have been with EPIC, I have seen what was once an emerging virtual charter school explode to become the state’s third-largest public school system. I have seen naysayers criticize. I have seen a period of unprecedented growth in the number of families we serve. Most importantly, I have seen EPIC’s faculty and staff rise to these challenges with passion, kindness and unsurpassed devotion to duty.

I am proud of the work each of our more than 1,400 employees do each day on behalf of our students and families. I could not ask for a more talented and committed group of educational professionals to call coworkers.

Just as the work we at EPIC do every day impacts the lives of our students and, in the broader scheme of things, the future of our state, working for EPIC has an impact on me, personally. I am filled with gratitude, purpose and hope for the future.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this great honor possible.

Dare Greatly,

Bart
